Yesterday we traveled 53nm north on the Hudson River to Newburgh. The NY Harbor was calm in the morning, but stress came quickly when we found our anchor chain was snagged. We pulled over, and north, and south. No luck. We then backed over to the east …and it released. No idea what it was, but once the chain was free we brought the final 60ft of chain and anchor in with no problem. We stopped to top up on fuel at Liberty Landing Marina (24hr self serve fuel dock), and were on our way by 7:30AM. Even with the anchor delay we caught the tide just right to have it take us up the river. We arrived at 3:15PM and were fortunate to again get to visit with family who were conveniently in the area. A storm and high winds blew through in the evening, but we were secure and had a restful night.
