Reaching 1500nm on the way to Saugerties, NY

This afternoon we hit the 1500nm mark on our travels, as we passed Hyde Park. We’ll again stop in Saugerties for the night, and are planning to drop the mast there. We left Newburgh late this morning, waiting for favorable current. That gave us time to remove the headsail and furler, and also install our ‘mast catcher’. We headed north at 11:30AM and are hoping to find a protected place to anchor around 5PM. A long day for us if we get the mast down tonight, but we’re anxious to get to the canal. Rain starting to fall now with 15nm left until Saugerties.
