Fort Edward

We left Waterford this morning, and arrived at the first lock of the Champlain Canal at 8AM. We continued northbound through locks one through six, and arrived at the Fort Edward terminal wall at around 3PM. We were the second boat to arrive here, and two more joined us shortly after. It’s a great spot, with free water/power/bathrooms in a park setting. Non-ethanol gasoline being only a short walk is also helpful. We’ll be switching back to non-ethanol once we get back to Vermont, but it hasn’t been available for most of the trip. There is a good bit of activity on the weather radar, so we expect some storms this evening, but so far it’s been a hot and sunny day.

We stayed at Fort Edward on our way back too! Great spot for breakfast an easy walk from there. We’re in California and don’t have our log with us. We can’t remember the name of the place. It was on a corner in the town and was rustic looking. Steve just googled it — Ye Old Fort diner!
