We had initially hoped to visit the capital by boat, taking the Potomac River about 85nm up from the Chesapeake Bay. Because of the lost time at the beginning of our trip, we realized we couldn’t fit that destination into our schedule. Yesterday we decided to take a day trip into the city, as it’s only about 30 miles from Annapolis. We had a very nice time visiting many of the sites as we walked through the mall and downtown areas. In the evening we returned to Eastport for our final night in Annapolis.
