It’s been awhile, and we’re very happy to be back. Rain was falling this morning, but had stopped by 9AM when we locked through from the canal back into Lake Champlain. Light south breezes, sunshine, mountains, and birds welcomed us home. We had planned to raise the mast shortly after entering the lake, but the forecast showed a storm front, which we managed to outrun. Rather than anchoring in the southern part of the lake, we headed to the protection of Kingsland Bay. After picking up a mooring we went for a swim … and now time for dinner.
