Games
A deck of cards goes a long way on a boat. We play a good amount of hi-low jack (pitch) and rummy. We’ve also received a dice game that we’re going to try this season. A book of card games is a good addition to the crusiing library as well.
Books
I’m not personally a huge fan of reading fiction, but there are plenty of books useful to have on hand. Studying wildlife and astronomy are certainly rewarding as you travel. Learning cellestial navigation or a foreign language are some other practical forms of entertainment …if that’s possible?
Music
Both listening to music and learning an instrument have found their way into our seaward adventures. Anything you’ve always wanted to learn and never had time? Welcome to cruising!
Cuisine
Finding new ingredients and recipes while traveling can be fun, healthy, and delicious! Taking the time to prepare new dishes and learn how to make the most of a limited prep and cooking space is a great way to improve the cruising experience.
Upgrades
If you’re feeling motivated, the most rewarding entertainment results into making your floating home more livable. Finding joy in completing non-essential tasks is great and can have long lasting positive effects.
