Yesterday we made the hop south from Smith Island to Tangier Island and spent the night at Park’s Marina. Mr Park is 88 and still runs the marina by himself. There were at least six other cruising boats there, and everyone was enjoying their time on the island. Several of the boats had planned a single night, but were staying longer. We enjoyed walking the streets of the island and sampling the local food. Although still a small island, it has a much larger population than Smith Island, and a very different feel. Despite everything being close, and there not being many places to go, for some reason there was a constant flow of golf carts zipping around. The evening was cool with a nice breeze and no insects bothering us, so we enjoyed some time at dusk relaxing on the bow.
